We Need A Better Workplace

We are in the province today with our grandparents and cousins. Good thing i managed to bring my camera with me which only means one thing, me and my siblings, Mirasol and Milzon can make art projects while we are spending our vacation here. However, we can't find a good working place here since everything is made out of bamboos and woods. Well woods are nice so as the bamboos however we cannot do our painting crafts here since our paints will mark on them and it will be hard for us to remove that stain. Also, we're afraid to leave some unwanted scratches on it.
I wish we could find a better workplace than this like a coffee table made out of marble, granite or something.
Marble is probably the best material for your house whether you use it as an alternative for your typical ceramic or vinyl floor tile or use it as a kitchen counter top. Unlike any other materials marble is highly durable and will not break easily whenever a strong force is being applied.
It is easy to clean and is free from any scratches.
Aside from it's quality, marble can also add more color to your kitchen or living room. It has this glossy effect which makes your house more appealing.
Well right now, we have no choice but to deal with the bamboo table and do our art projects here. We're planning to make Shamrock potato Stamp today so watch out for it.

Craft Box

We are so messy every time that we're making projects so i realized to make this simple Craft box to organize our things in one place.

To Start this very simple project, we need an Empty box, a cutter, and colored papers.
Measures 2 inches from the bottom.

Cut it out... Just be very careful okay!

There you go!

Cover the the craft box with an art paper.

Then add the dividers.

Tadah! Clean and organized.

January Art Projects

We are all set for this new year's project. We will start this year with a bang. We will be featuring 6 art projects for this month. Our main medium for this month are empty boxes. From Shoe box to match box, they will all come in handy this month. Here's a sneak-peak for this month project. Care to guess?

Recycled Christmas Lantern

Our first project for this month is a recycled Christmas Lantern.

To start with, we need old Cds, Popsicle sticks, Plastic cups, Christmas garlands, and copper wire.

Glue gun the Popsicle sticks on the top of a cd. Form a star like this!

Now cover the the cd by another cd (on a flip position)

Cut a small piece of garland and attach them on each corner of our star. Use copper wire to attach the garlands on the Popsicle stick.

Make a hole on the center of our plastic cups.

Insert a copper wire inside the hole and lock it.

Attach the plastic cups at the lower part(legs of the star) of our lantern.

Attach a pair of garlands inside the plastic cups using copper wire.
There you have it, you can now hang it on your window or outside your house.

Teaching Him How to draw

Yesterday, my Auntie went over to our house together with his son, Francis.
While my mom and auntie keep their selves busy.... i tried to entertain Francis by teaching him how to draw a manga character. "Manga" is a japanese term for comics

I gave him some samples provide some real mangas so he will have an idea what to draw
Look... what a great start isn't?

Potato Stamp Art

Hi there guys, we will be sharing another artwork. This time we'll be making "Potato Stamp Art"
Here are the materials we need:
Potato
Water Color
Knife
Bond Paper
Actually you can use potatoes of any size and any variety. With a little creativity, the lowly spud can be used to make decorative prints that can adorn personalized gift cards or decorative gift wrappers.

Get a potato and cut it into half ( with pencil or any pointed material like a small knife), outline your design into the raw surface. You can start of with some simple designs like a star, a fish or even a clover leaf.

Now using that small knife, cut around the outline of the design to a depth of 1/4 inch and then cut the background of the shape it self.
Here, i make a clover shape potato stamp.

Tadah! we used Star and clover shape!
For colors, you can use water colors , which you can mix with a little water. Just dip or spread the color with brush and apply it to a suitable surface.
Tadah! here's the work of my brother!

So cool!

and here's mine...errrr okay my bro's work is much better.

Make your Own Scratch-off card!

Yesterday, i helped my little bother in making our very own "improvised scratch off cards"
We made one for our mom too!
Sont you just scratching off that gray stuff on prepaid cards and raffle tickets? We will show you how to make your own "Scratch-off Cards"
Here's what we need;
○Cardboard
○Felt tipped pens or markers
○White candle or candle wax
○Poster paint
○Paint Brush
○White Glue
Draw your design on the card. Here we drew a "Raffle-ticket" like design. I drew three hearts (one in each circle). Outline your design with black or colored marker.
Use the end of the candle like a crayon and fill in all the circles. This will stop the paint from sticking to the card so you can scratch it off later.
Scratch off cards are usually gray, but you can use other colors. Here, i used red! The trick is to mix the poster paint with an equal amount of white glue. this will make it stick to the candle wax.

Paint each circles with the mixture of paint and glue.
Let the paint dry and your scratch off card is done!

Tadah! You can make multiple scratch-off cards. But of course, not all of them are the same.

here's another way of making scratch-off card. We made one for my mom. An unusual mother's day card.
I drew a mother holding flowers. And in each flowers, there's a word. So the message will be revealed in the end after scratching all the circles.
Do the same as what we did in the first scratch off cards

TadaH let your mom scratch it! and greet he Happy mother's day in a scratch-off card way!

Happy mother's day to all Moms!
