Storage Gift Box

This project was actually featured AT Merryn's Crafty Crafted site a long long time ago but i failed to feature the step by step illustration here in my blog.

We're making a Storage Gift Box out of Popsicle Sticks. To start, we need popsicle sticks, laces, cutter, paint and glue.

Just layout the popsicle sticks like this

Cut both tips of each craft sticks using cutter.

Then attach them all using a pair popsicle sticks placed horizontally on top of the craft sticks

Make four.

Glue each corner and form a box.

Put a Popsicle at the bottom part. This will hold our base.

Now place the base

Make a cover

paint the box and add some details

Tadah! You can make one as your Valentine's day gift too!

Popsicle Stick Jewelry Box

This is the second to the last project for this month. I will make a Jewelry Box out of Popsicle Sticks

To start, we need popsicle sticks and Glue sticks

We also need a material that is strong enough for our base. Here we used a vinyl tile.

We will be making an Octagon shape box. So we lay out the sticks octagonally on the vinyl tile and cut the excess from the tile.

Continue to glue the sticks until you have reached your desired height. Set it aside first.

For the cover... layout the sticks again octagonally but this time, without the vinyl tile.

glue the Sticks together and form a pyramid.

Should look something like this...

Cover the remaining open space and add anything on the top to serve as the handle. Here we make use of heart shaped gem.

Cut a small piece of carton and fold it into half.

Glue it between the cover and the box.

(on the inner view)

Add some details... put lace on the side to make it more appealing.

The popsicle sticks will automatically resembles leaf shape when doing a pyramid style

There you go... A Popsicle Stick Jewelry Box.

Popsicle Stick Toy Train

Finally, we went down to our last project for this month. Today, we will make Popsicle Stick Toy Train.

To start, we need different color craft sticks, laces, Styrofoam, and glue.

Layout the stick...

Glue a pair of stick on the side (take note! you have to keep the two sticks at least 3-5 millimeters away from each other.

Do the same thing on the other side (done with the base)
For the walls, make it at least 3 popsicle stick high...

Make 2 pairs of walls; the long one and the short one

Usging glue gun, start gluing the walls to our base.

Should be something like this!

For the wheels, cut a circle from the Styrofoam and put a lace around it. make four wheels!

Now connect each wheels using a stick.

Place the stick on the mini space that we left awhile ago at the bottom part of our base

lock the wheels using small pieces of craft sticks

Get a thin copper wire and twist it using a plier

The first copper wire should be twisted like this and should be places at the back of our train

The other one should be twisted like this (forming a hook) and should be placed at the front.

Should have something like this! (done with one of the compartments)

Make as many as you want and make it more colorful too!

For the head of our train... just put 4 popsicle sticks in an upright position in each corner.

Make the roof and the front cover..

Add some details and there you go! A Popsicle Stick Toy Train
